They're not. You're just looking at the moon.

There are no emissions from a lunar eclipse, so not harmful. However the same does not apply to anything solar, except under controlled circumstances -so DO NOT GET CONFUSED.

They aren't harmful at all to the eyes.

The only reason solar eclipses are harnful, is becuase you are looking directly at the Sun - dangerous stuff.

The moon is actually a luminous object - it only projects the Suns rays (making it visible) and so the rays aren't very powerful at all.

I hope your question didn't stop you from looking at the eclipse hehe. And i hope this all made sense cos i'm not great at writing down what i think, x

The reflection of the Sun's rays from the Moon are totally harmless, assuming you don't believe in astrology.

Assuming that the Moon is a perfect Lambertian reflector, the amount of energy reflected from the Moon, captured by the Earth is about 0.0274% of Sun's energy. That's equivalent to looking at the Sun through smoked glass.

The light reflected from the moon is not harmful to your eyes, unless you are looking through a powerful telescope, in which case it can be extremely bright and painful to look at. However, it doesn't usually cause any lasting damage, even when the moon is at it's brightest.

Do not on any account look at the moon directly! If you do, you will find a marked increase in your facial hair, your canine teeth will grow longer, along with your fingernails, and you will experience an uncontrollable desire to howl and attack large breasted young women!
