They use their real life experiences to create the scenes. And they have a coach to show them what to do. Just because you only saw skin, that doesn't mean they are actually naked. The actors (males) wear socks over their privates. And the women either go topless or completely nude, or they wear body wrappings.

KOKO do you really believe they have sex on set? C'mon get real it's called acting , and sometimes they use body doubles.
Not withstanding at how many takes they need for each sex scene,it is great acting to have you think it's real....
