Dress Clean and neat and tidy. Wash hair. Smell clean. It is all about the paperwork for the money but someone may listen more carefully, if you are looking good. In my opinon it does not hurt to look nice. No need to wear Sunday clothes just neat and clean. They are supposed to go strictly by the paperwork but after all a human is taking the application.

In terms of the New Home Loan, it comes down to what is on your credit Report versus Debt to Income Ratio. Every financial firm has their model how on how much risk they can take on based on the clients credit score, history, income, purchase price of home, location of home, etc.

Saying that, it doesn't hurt to have a professional look like you are interested in being a homeowner. No need to spend couple of hundred dollars new clothes, just make sure you are presentable and able to portray that you want this to happen.
