Why would a lipstick that is distinctly much darker than my natural lipcolor not show up at all?

The lipstick is not sheer.

I didn't know Loreal was considered cheap.

When I've done a swatch on the back of my hand, that shows up fine, and is distinctly dark. However on my lips, I can't even see the color.

Usually drugstore lipsticks (Loreal, Cover Girl, etc...) don't look as dark on your lips as they do in the tude. If you want a darker color you should get a more expensive brand like MAC or Chanel. They put more pigment in the lipstick than the drugstore brands.

It's all about the amount of pigment in the lipstick. Matte lipsticks include a lot more pigment that glossy ones. Generally L'oreal lipsticks tend to be more glossy and therefore once applied the actual color you see on your lips is much lighter that what you see in the tube. I have used L'Oreal's Color Riche Bordeaux Noir and that is a very dark lipstick but overall, if you want a dark colored lipstick, select a matte or satin finish and you will be happy with the result!

Just because the visual stick color is darker, doesnt mean that the actually color will come off darker.

properly, i imagine this is because your lips are like your epidermis. Your epidermis receives older quicker in case you take advantage of make up at a mushy age.. i do not use make up for that reason. imagine about it- why do favourite actors look so grotesque without make up?? this is because they began utilising it at a really youthful age and kept utilising it so it made their epidermis look previous and ugly with out it.. a similar is going for lipstick and some lipglosses.... The extra you take advantage of it, the extra naturality you eliminate out of your lips!! Sorry if this does no longer sound like that is a honest answer although that is!!
