Yes you can do it. For experiment follow this:
start>programs>accessories>entertainment>sound recorder
you can do this to record you voice. But this is only time limited. You can download free software that can record with unlimited time.
Try locating free CD to MP3 converter 1.8 at download.com, its extra feature is recording. Be sure that computer has detected your microphone. Do a test.
control panel>audio and sound devices>voice>test hardware
and follow instructions

Yes, U can. Open Sound Recorder and select Recorder source as Microphone. Speak, Record Your voice.

Yes, but the Recorder that comes with windows only records for about 30 seconds.

You'll need to get a good software package for this. I use Audacity. It has tons of tools and nice editing options.

yes you can, just use windows sound recorder. you can change the quality if you go to file, properties and click convert now. if your going to record music though( i do all the time off the radio) i would use the line in, if you have a digital radio with a headphone jack and a cable to put in your computer it works a lot better.
