Is an MA degree from a top 10 UK university equivilent to and MA from a top 10 US university?

No, definitely not.
Cambridge and Oxford offer automatic Masters degrees a few years after graduation.

Since these are top UK schools, they're obviously not equivalent.

of course not. there are so many more universities in the US. i would say the top 2 in the UK is equivalent to the top 10 in the US.

Better, I think. That is, the universities in the UK have had good reputations from much much longer than the oldest top US university.
