I have a 99 toyota tacoma that was running fine until one day when i tried turning it on...it would only make a clicking noise. I bought a new battery and the noise went away, but now it's back again and my truck doesnt start. I really dont know a lot about cars. ..However, i've done all the maintenance stuff (oil change, tune up etc. ) but i dont know what else it can be ....does anyone know what it can be? Thanks.

There is a chance that it’s your starter. When the truck doesn’t start check to see if everything else works i.e. radio, headlights, lights on the dash. If all of those work and all you hear is a click sound then its most likely your starter.

i own a repair shop, and you have a bad battery connection on it,you ,ll need to have the cables cleaned and inspected ,and checked to see if there all good and tight ,and these also have a starter relay on them that will do the exact same thing that its doing right now,if your going to try and work on this one at least go out and get a good repair manual on it,it tells where all this stuff is,and how to do a lot of these jobs, and it will help you a lot on keeping this truck going ,good luck i hope this help,s.

You need to have the charging system checked out,,,it may not be charging the battery.
Further,,you could have an open electrical circuit somewhere draining power from the battery.
Take the vehicle to your local service station and have it tested.

it could possibly be a bad starter solenoid or a bad starter. Sometimes starter motors get bad spots in them that cause them to sometime work and sometime not i would get the starter checked out.
