I'd have to say "When Harry Met Sally." The other responders have listed some great flicks, but I choose WHMS becuase of its timelessness. You can watch that movie twenty years from now and everything will still make sense - whereas movies the The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, or Fast Times At Ridgemont High will puzzle some viewers.

My close 2nd place goes to Good Morning, Vietnam. Comedy, drama, war movie, romance - all wrapped in one. One of Robin Williams' best, and one of Forrest Whittaker's first.

i don't think of it truly is the low intelligence of the movie goer, i imagine it truly is the individuals on the studios questioning we've a low intelligence aspect. Take television.....it truly is not any diverse there. Lame, lame, lame. If it weren't for books and my pc, i could be up a creek and not using a paddle, because i do no longer watch television except for the interior sight information. ignore the nationwide information, besides the undeniable fact that it truly is yet another concern.

Raging Bull although I can't argue with those who picked Ran. One film that no one has mentioned that should be on the shortlist is Do the Right Thing.

Somebody mentioned Goodfellas. Came out in 1990.

Ferris Bueller? Puh-leese!
