i am planning to expand my business, which is web designing, development & hosting. What are your opinions.

Your knowledge and experise in web design, development and hosting are very valuable in internet marketing. But, instead of starting your own business why not ride on any existing online business by joining their affiliate program. There is no risk involved and the capital outlay usually is minimum.
By joining the affiliate program, you can reach out to people in any parts of the world as long as they know English. Outside USA and UK, India is a big market as many speak fluent English. China is another emerging market for this business as the proficiency of English language has increased very much recently.
Currently, there is an affiliate program that deals with internet education which is the biggest emerging trend with tremendous growth opportunity. You can impart your web knowledge, together with the tips and secrets of internet marketing learnt along the way, to the people sponsored by you. Your business will be multiplied many folds. Remember in this modern world, the word is "LEVERAGE". Instead of using 100% of your effort, you can use 1% of 100 person's effort to achieve your result. What happened if everyone put on 20 to 30% of his effort? Your returns will be 20 to 30 times than if you do it alone.

Expansion is good, but make sure you know your market/customers before expanding there. Research that country or maybe even look into a joint partnership of some type. Ive successfully outsourced quite a few programming jobs to India. Also, please be aware, that contracts may be different for other countries. Also consider time zone differences when offering support. Best of luck!
