We all very concerned about the safety at work and the chance of being bullied or killed by the young kids...today I told my friend who is a security guard working at our site about a joke of a co-worker ran away from a gang member once when he worked at other site. I told the security guard not to tell any other people because I only just heard it from someone. She said ok, but I am still afraid she is a big-mouthed...what should I do?
Thanks

It's too late now. In the future, if you don't want things to get out, I wouldn't tell anyone. One person tells another who promises not to tell anyone, and then that person tells another who promises not to tell, and the cycle continues.

You probably should have kept that information to yourself in the first place. But since you did not make the wisest decision, I would deny everything if the subject ever came of it. You will ruin your working relationship with one of the two people. If you deny everything, you will ruin the relationship with the security guard, but since the security guard did not keep the information in confidence, they will have lost your trust anyways.

The irony is that you have violated the co-workers trust.
This is a lose, lose situation!

Not much you can do. If you want to keep a secret, you should keep it to yourself.
