It's not even a year yet, so how do you know that the PS3 isn't going to do as well as the PS2?
The PS3 isn't selling as well as it should because Sony screwed up during the launch and left a bitter taste for many die hard gamers. To begin with, there were only between 200 to 400 thousand PS3 available at launch, which is less than the number of PS2 available during its launch. In Japan, there was less than 100,000 available during launch. To compound it, about half of the PS3 that were sold were immediately put up on Ebay, which pissed off a lot gamers who wanted a PS3. There was also the store having fun with the gamers. One store had musical chairs to determine who would get the PS3 at launch, and another store had gamers stand behind a line and had them run toward the door in a race. A guy stole 2 PS3 from someone, and when the police came looking for him, he raised his weapon, and the police shot him to death in self defense. Another guy got robbed and shot at when he refused to cough up his PS3 money. Let's not forget the terrible launch game line-up. It's probably the 2nd worst launch in history, right behind the N64, which only had 2 games at launch.

Because Sony thought that if they pushed the date of release back about a month that they would manufacture more PS3 before Christmas, but they couldn't supply the demand for them and the Wii had allot of the production by the time of Release, and Sony could not keep up with them.

I think that the problem with the PS3 is that it only appeals to those people who have to define themselves by what they own, those who need ultra high end tech toys to show off. Plus I think that they intentionally limited production to get that huge price, I don't care what anyones say the price is high due to low production numbers and huge demand not due to the technology in it. Personally I think that the Xbox 360 and Wii have better games, and isn't that what makes consoles?

I don't care if it is "worth the price" that is still a HUGE price tag. Espically when everyone knows they could have made a cheaper system and been as good. They wanted to push their technology(Blu-Ray which the games aren't on for starters) and also they had to drop the rumble feature which people don't like.

A. Because 5 to 600 bucks is to expensive for a system.
B. Bluray? Please thats like the next Beta max
C. Six axis controller is well a gimmic.
D. The wii has more good games out there and its in a drought just as the PS3 is

Anyone else think this question is fake? I mean a link to a website that shows how great the ps3 is? Best consolue of its generation? And look at this guys name. Didn't sony already get burnt once with this fake marketing campaign.

Sony messed up and didn't put out enough of them. There was supposed to be something like 20,000 released in Jersey alone, and only like 400 were released. And, the PS2 was way ahead of its generation, I personally still love it.
