Well in the first place you can't call this person your "best friend" any longer...she is obviously not that and what you are really saying is you don't want to hurt her feelings, but you feel the need for other friends in your life...and having just one friend is not a good idea anyway.

You are going to have to be upfront with her and tell her you are going to do some things with other people. Probably the best way to do this is to make some plans with a group and rather than just walking off...tell her ahead what you want to do...that you don't want to spend all your time with just one person...and that she needs to do that too.

Sometimes you have to be truthful....the worst thing would be not to tell her at all. Be honest also about what is bothering you.

You need to sit your friend down and talk to her openly and honestly. Tell her what it is that is really getting on your nerves..she may not even realize she's doing it. Tell her you and her are friends but it's ok to have more than one friend. Unfortunately the other friends you've chosen, dont seem to like her for whatever reason(OR if you know the reason let your friend know the reson) Tell her you want to have many friends but don't want to lose her as a friend either. This will hurt her no matter how you put it, but if you're not honest, then you're not being a true friend*

ok well i have been in your situation before. The best thing to do is just be honest with her .tell her that they all dont get along and they are your friends too and you have to have time for all of them

sometimes one can be overwhelmingly needy.be a little less available make plans to do other things, but dont get caught in the guilt game perhaps if your friend found other outlets she wouldnt feel so needy.

i had a friend like that also, its like u love them to death but they can not associate themselves with anyone else but u. but u need to be honest with her and tell her how u feel just make sure u reassure her that u and her are still friends but sometime gurls need to breath from one another
