Most women don't wear pantyhose in the summer. Even women who work in the office,will wear a nice low-heeled sandle, (but to answer your question), because bugs,especially mosquitos don't like the color "white", White pantyhose will keep the bugs off her legs in the summer.

The bugs will be on the pantyhose and not directly on your skin, so, sort of. It won't stop mosquito bites, but will keep ticks off if you're in the woods.

The thicker style pantyhose like L'eggs Sheer Energy will keep the ticks and biting flies at bay, but they won't deter skeeters.
