It is definitely not okay for parents to curse at the children. It is shameful that any parent would stoop to that level and curse at the miracle that they brought into this world. My mother cursed at me as a child and it was horrible and hurtful. Today I have a sixteen year old and her dad nor I have ever cursed at her.

It's not OK for parents to curse at their children! Parents are supposed to set a good example for their children. But parents can say other things to their children that children can't say back, because parents are raising you & teaching you & are responsible for you. If you do things wrong it's usually the parents who have to pay for it. So parents can dicipline & lecture you if they think they need to. But parents should respect their children & treat them in ways that earn their childrens respect. Cursing at their children is never right!

It's not okay for either to curse the other. As for a parent saying curse words I grew up hearing my parents using old curse words but would have had my teeth knocked out for using them. As I grew up and went to work in Law Enforcement and heard FOWL language constantly I started talking just like everyone else cops and crooks all talk terrible. So now I spend a lot of time trying not to use bad language but when I'm mad or upset? Well just cover your ears....

properly, I understand your good judgment that a newborn could desire to study to no longer say those words as a results of fact they are undesirable so it won't remember in case you curse around them or no longer. i do no longer accept as true with it nevertheless. For a million, I actually have a 7 twelve months previous and everytime he hears an S bomb he gets all giggly and that i realize it is going to be on his strategies. And if I in simple terms permit human beings curse around my teenagers what does that say, that that's ok so you might curse and not him? it isn't the message i bypass for. Cursing is incorrect. i do no longer curse. that's trashy and it makes human beings look down on you, extraordinarily in case you have the nerve to assert disgusting issues in front of youngsters.

Its not, obviously.
Its "do as I say, not as I do". Which of course, is ridiculous, not to mention kinda hard to respect.
When I was 17 my dad would constantly yell at me for smokin a little pot here and there. Even though I disagreed, I couldnt argue. However, one day I discovered a bag of pot and a pipe in his room (while looking for a tie, which I needed for a school thing). It was kind of hard to take him seriously after that.
Basically the same thing.
So the answer is, its not ok. The way I see it, in the words of Jesus "Let he who has never sinned cast the first stone". So, if you have "sinned" and especially if you continue to do so, then you have nothing to say about other peoples "sins".
People who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.

children are supposed to respect their parents. however i do not agree that parents can happily curse and swear at their kids. as a parent you should be the one giving gd examples. so most likely the child who curse his/her elders have parents who hurl vulgarities ocassionally at them .. its like a circle u see..
i learn that no matter how angry or annoyed i am when i do have kids in the future i will never ever curse or swear at them ..

Good parent/child relationships are based on mutual respect and love. The parent does have authority to make decisions and do what is right and healthy for their child in the best way they know how with what they have. But it is never ok for a parent to disrespect their child and make their child feel degraded.
when I "spanked" my child he hit me back. I learned if I wanted my child to treat me with respect I needed to respect him too. Golden Rule
