Can't trap tree frogs the best way to get them is to capture the tadpoles in small puddles or ponds and raise them til they grow legs and loose their tails. Most tree frog tadpoles are tiny and black and eat algae, and organic stuff. Once they develope legs their diet changes to anything that moves and don't eat them. Actually not much will eat them as their skin secrets a poison. South American tree frogs (especially the red ones) are known as Poison Arrow frogs because their secretions are so poisonous as to be fatal to humans when even scratched by an arrow tip.

I've never tried trapping frogs, but I'm good at catching them. Treefrogs are pretty easy to catch, just cup your hands over them. The best time to look for them is humid nights or mornings. If you have aluminum siding, I've found that they like to hide on it, and along drain pipes.

I did find this though, about trapping frogs:

It may just be best to catch them with your hands to avoid injury. Be gentle! Many tree frogs are quite clumsy. Always have your kids wash their hands afterwards.
