Former smoker of 4 packs daily; stopped 18 years ago.
I think business owners have a right to allow smoking in their establishments. I think non-smokers have a right to stay away from those death traps, especially if their health issues are that serious. Do these same asthmatics have to stay off of the streets to avoid bus fumes, auto pollution, the smells of the city??
I avoid businesses that allow smoking without proper ventilation. If your friend is healthy enough to bowl in public, then she probably could deal with a little second hand smoke once in a while. Sounds like a bunch of baby whining to me.

I smoke and wish I didn't. but I always ask people before I light up even in my own house. My (adult) daughter has asthma and she gives me hell for smoking but then she went out and got a job working in a smoking bar-b-que and bar. Oh well I don't know what the right answer is but I try hard to be respectful to other people who have a problem.

If one wants to smoke (and that is his/her right) then be considerate enough to get away from others.
I understand that the state of Florida has banned smoking in all public places; maybe all the other states will take a hint.

I like it when I see cigarete druggies forcing non-smokers by blowing their germ filled second hand smoke into their face. I like it when I see the druggies hold down a victim and blow tons of second hand smoke into their face.... jeez!
