No , Think of the other numbers on that wall and ask yourself did Hernandez do enough as a Met to deserve being out there with
#14 Gil Hodges ,# 37 Casey Stengel or # 41 Tom Seaver ? and the answer is no
If the Mets need to retire a number they could retire # 3 Bud Harrelson or # 7 Eddie Kranepool or # 36 Jerry Koosman or # 45 Tug McGraw all those guys are more deserving as Mets than Hernandez was

When #37 played for the Cardinals he was the best first baseman in the NL hands down.He was also my favorite ballplayer.The things he did in NY,I don't know if that deserves having his number retired.

No. I am a Mets fan and know he was there in 1986. He didn't play for them that long. He is more of a Cardinal than a Met.
