I have no clue what so ever, where we are heading?. There is lot of terrorism in all parts of world, srilanka, pakistan, iraq, indonesia, kashmir, coulombia, north korea, ireland,denmark...you name it all most all parts of the world.Politicians are fooling ppl around not just undeveloped countries,it is same in most industrialised countries. Everyone is stressed, there is no family value, everyone is running around, addicted to habits & patterns. We have never seen or realised this in the history humans. Why there is so much chaos & confusion say for the past 100 years or so. What we are trying to achieve prove during our lives? Does our life makes sense? I hope you understood what i am trying to tell you. Any one out there has any solution for this, Because individuals build soceity, so if there is a problem in society it will affect us too. Hope to get a answer

Has anything changed since Nero was throwing the Christians to the lions, the black plague was wiping out europe, the Spanish Inquisition was dooming hundreds of thousand of women, Hitler and Stalin were dooming off millions of our fellow earthmen, and you're worried the world is heading in the wrong direction. Where and when did we go wrong (sarcism).
Just think, in 50 years we'll be at 10 billion souls at our current rate of growth....with zero fossil fuels, zero coal and other natural resources. The burgeoning populations will be in the third world countries, war will be over water.
Will technology save the day?...maybe Will we change our ways to avert the impending train wreck?...doubtful Will some cataclysmic event bring us back to more sustainable levels?....likely

This question will spawn answers dependant on individual belief systems. Some people think the earth has been here for millions of years and will be here for millions more. Some people think it's just going to get worse and worse but have no more idea than that, just like you. Some people say, "Repent, for the end of the world is near!" The answers are as varied as the people you are asking.
For my own opinion, the end will come very soon, probably within the next ten years. What is the "end"? Something will happen with the help of man's influence, which will reduce the population by 75%. Pandemic, nuclear war, whatever. Does this scare me? No. I, for one, am not afraid of death. My reasons are my own, but this is the truth.
When I do die, I know I will be joining every other soul that has passed before me, in the presence of my Lord and Savior. In the Spirit World, those who didn't get the chance to hear of Jesus and what He's done for us will get that opportunity. Those who thought they knew better and refused Him here on earth will also be given a second chance.
If I should be one of the remaining few here on earth, I will be witness to the Lord's second coming. Yes, there will be many hard days from now until then, but the rewards are well worth the struggle. I will be going Home with my Heavenly Father, Heavenly Mother, and my Savior Jesus Christ. This brings me peace as I go through this life day by day. I have little to worry about as the Earth shows her fury, and humanity tears itself apart. I share what I know with whoever is willing to listen, and if they have no interest now, I will share with them on the Other Side. Heavenly Father is a just and loving God, and will refuse no one who accepts His teachings.
Blessings

Ancient Rome went pretty much the same way.
But think for a moment. With all the chaos around us, there are still people who go to their jobs, and raise their families, and practise 'random acts of kindness', and give to charity, and treasure moments of happiness, and live their lives as best they can. You hear nothing about them because the rest of the world has become so strident and shrill, but it is in these quiet lives that any solutions for society lie.

This is all because people have become so greedy and selfish. They have been conditioned by all sorts of media to crave for more and more. There will not be and end to this unless you (an individual) learn self control. You have to tame your mind first. Then you should learn to control craving for all and everything under the sun and the moon.If everybody can do this there will be enough food, medicine, clothing etc.. for everyone. However you must remember that you must not only have knoweldge but wisdom to do this.

All the going ons... on the power trips... all the carnage... the super powers... all of the all... ---- in the end we will have only been going around the sun once a year anyway... good and bad alike... that is it.

Not we, you.
We attract what we focus on. Sound like you are heading down the tubes. Enjoy while it lasts.
