Honestly i would like to see the Toronto Blue Jays win the east this year but most lily the Yankees will win it. But i want to see them fall apart though.

The overall Division is much improved. The winner is yet to be determined. That is why we play the games. My prediction is the Yankees. They have most of the lineup returning and have made an attempt to get a little younger. No Bernie, No Randy, and No Sheffield. All Great ballplayers but age and injuries have caught up to them. I am not sold on the entire pitching staff, but the should edge out Boston by 3 games and Toronto by 5.

The Yankees are taking the division. The Red Sox will be lucky to do better than the Blue Jays.

it may flow both way. sure at the moment it truly is tied yet even as the perfect time it became tied July 9th, the Sox gained the subsequent 3 video games and the Yankees lost the subsequent 3 video games. a pair months left contained in the season, so as we talk, it may particularly be both team. i'm truly hoping it is going to likely be the Sox!!!

How long did it take you to come up with this original question? I don't think anyone has ever asked this one before. How inspiring is this? Gosh!! I just don't know. Can I get back to you on this one? I'll have to assimilate this information with my colleagues. You've really thrown us a major curve ball with this incredibly dynamic question. Yanks - Sox, Sox - Yanks, it just doesn't get any tougher than this.

I can't disagree with anything in draciron's answer.
Looks like it's the Yankees' year again.
(It's amusing that the few people who pick the Red Sox have trouble putting a meaningful sentence together, and misspell many words in their answers. I doubt that their insight on baseball is much better than their grammar and spelling.)

lmao, of course mr. yank avatar answers NY and throws in a dig about boston.
clearly the sox are going to take it, with a stellar pitching staff and one of the best 1-9 lineups in the majors. nyy just doesn't have the pitching to do it, their going to give up more runs than their offense can score.

The Redsox will be lucky to be above .500 this year. They are going with a dangerously questionable pitching staff as well as a cancerous clubhouse. The average age of the team spells injury trouble and the mounting pressure and expectations will only increase the friction that is already present on the team. Just to make things worse they have managed to get rid of almost all of their team players. Varitek is one of the few left.
On the flip side the Yankees while facing their own injury issues go in with a solid but unspectaculer rotation. They are stupid enough to try Pavano in the rotation with so many promising youngsters. However the worst thing that could happen to the Yankees would be for their aged arms to fall apart late in the year not early. If they fall apart early then that wealth of prospects get a chance.
Offensively nobody is going to touch the Yankees in the AL east for run production. Sure some Redsox might have flashier stats but just like last year it translated into fewer runs when they were really needed and more runs during softball like blow outs. Riveria shows no sign of slowing down. The middle relief corps of the Yankees is rock solid with some impressive prospects waiting to squeeze in. The Redsox have an abyss in the minors and a shakey middle relief core and no closer. This will cause pitchers to overpitch as the year wears on and they lose confidence in the bullpen's ability to not blow games.
The Jays have some young pitchers that may well step up this year and a pretty good overall lineup. I'm picking the Jays to leave Boston in their dust and potentially challenge the Yankees. The O's also have some young arms that might find their stride this year. They took a step backwards when they picked up Wright but he's overdue for an injury anyway. The Rays are going to be hot and cold all year. They could easily play spoiler at any time of the year. A young team like that can pile up wins and losses in rapid bursts and teams unfortunate enough to play them during their hot streaks will suffer and those who play them during their cold streaks will have to work to lose games. Which Rays show up to any given game will be an unknown till the game is under way.
My other predictions for Boston. Varitek decks JD Drew before the All star break. I cannot think of two completely opposite and aggravating kinds of personalities to have in the same clubhouse. Varitek is a hard working tough guy who pushes his team mates. JD Drew is a fragile Prima Donna and probably the greediest player in the game today. If there are no $s involved JD is not interested and I see this as rubbing Varitek the wrong way every hour of every game.
I see injury in the future of Pappelbon. Rumors were that closing was rough on his arm yet closing is a breeze compared to starting. If his arm is too delicate for closing he's in for a world of hurt, literally as a starter. D-Mat is going to try to hard to live up to his contract and Boston fans will have him considering Hari Kari before the year is up. There is no way this guy is going to jump in and be a Cy Young contender his first year but Boston fans will start booing him before the all star break if he isn't pitching like one. For a Japanese player given Japanese culture this will destroy his confidence and his rythem. Schilling is over due for his age to catch up to him. He'll be lucky to win 15 games this year with an ERA in the mid 4.s. Schilling however is who is expected to anchor the staff. That is a problem and I can see the Boston press turning on Schilling as well. With his volitile personality things could get ugly in a hurry.
