My sister is having some health issues. Her symptoms are vaginal itching, which has been going on for 3 months, thin whitish sometimes clumpy discharge (odorless). Tested for yeast, bacteria, chlamydia, gonnorhea, all negative. Pap smear 3 months ago came back normal. Any ideas?

We changed all of our soap and her boyfriends soap and laundry detergent to Dove body wash and Tide free-free of dyes, perfumes, etc. more than a month ago (we thought that might be the issue) but it didn't help. We're all at a loss..

That's a hard one... I think you should request all of those tests be run again, since maybe the infection wasn't severe enough at the time of the test.

She could also have an allergy--- maybe to her laundry detergent or soap, etc. That could be causing the vagina to become irritated and itchy, and could even explain the extra discharge. Another possibility is that she's allergic to semen (if she's sexually active and not using condoms) or she could also be sensitive to latex if she is using condoms. Both of those things could cause some of those symptoms.

Regardless, I think she should talk to her doctor again, or see another one. They may need to repeat some testing, but then maybe she'll have some answers.

Hope this helps!

I have had the itching usually when I use a shower wash that I am sensitive to. Sometimes the fragrances that I love so much don't do so great on my private parts when I bathe because I am so sensitive. Maybe this is what is going on with you, before you have those tests run again, try using like a baby wash or different soap to see if that remedy's the problem.

i had the same thing. it is probably bacterial vaginosis. basically, it is a cervical infection. i have dealt with this on and off for the past four months! i also had all of the tests that your sister had...all negative. as my doctor explained it, our cervix naturally has bacteria in it. sometimes your body develops too much bacteria and causes an infection. the medication i was put on is called flagyl (500mg twice daily). it seemed to do the trick. very uncomfortable, i know. i hope this helps you out. if her doctor has already treated her for bacterial vaginosis, i would definitely get a second opinion. any questions, feel free to email me at hellokitty107@sbcglobal.net...
