Their goal is to fight the anti-christian groups in this country, since that includes the ACLU, yes.
Jay and his people do outstanding work. I support them monthly and am proud of the work they do

No.
They ACLJ is more focused on issues relating to a Christian background. They support "religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, and the two-parent, marriage-bound family." They were developed as a counterweight to the ACLU, but have currently been on the same side for many issues. They are not that strong of a group yet and lack the attention needed to get their point across. As a political science major, I did not find out about them untill a few months ago and I come from a very conservative, Christian college. Give them time and if all goes well, they might be a big name in public interest law.

The American Center for Law and Justice is a Christian-based organization that often clashes with the ACLU in court.

The ACLJ is the counterfeit Christian answer to the ACLU.
As for "damage" that the ACLU is causing, I didn't realize that protecting American's civil liberties was considered "damage"

You could call it that. But it is really a lawyer's organization committed to Strict Constructionist Constitutional interpretation, in its own right.
There is also the CLA, with David Gibbs and son. They do the same thing, and have been around a long time. And there are some others, including Rutherford Group (Paula Jones).
More importantly than who has or hasn't heard of them, the Supreme Court and the ACLU have heard of them.

The ACLJ is about as concerned for law and justice as the Ku Klux Klan were concerned for the environment.
The similar name was invented to dupe the less informed into donating money that would normally go to the ACLU into the coffers of hatemongering bigots.

I didn't know protecting our rights and liberty was somehow harmful to our country.
Now the ACLJ, I don't understand them, they seem to be focused on protecting the religious rights of the people, yet you don't ever hear them standing up for the rights of non-Christians in expressing their religious beliefs.

That's the intent, but strangely enough they find themselves on the same side in many cases.
