I just started talking to this guy and I have called him by my ex boyfriend of 7 yrs name twice in two days. I did it yesterday and again today. He asked me was I confused and did I want to be with my ex, but I really love him and I told him that I'm use to talking to that one guy and I guess I'd have to get use to saying his name. I really don't know what to say to him to make him feel better. I don't want him to think that I'm playing with him and I'm not playing with him. I love him more than anything and I don't want to hurt him.
How do I tell him and let him know I'm sorry I called him my ex's name and I do not want my ex back?

well if you just started talking to this guy how can you say that you love him. maybe you should take some time off . your probably not over your ex yet thats why his name keeps slipping out.

Damn Girl. Really. You and ur ex been togther for 7 years and that is a long as time. By accident you can say his name. But the questions is are you really over your ex, cause I been in long relationships and I never called my new boyfriends none of my ex's names. Just think it through.

tell him exactly what you just said. that you really love him and you don't know why you're calling him your ex's name. and to back you up, 7 years is a long time. totally understandable that talking to a new guy you love would bring back the memory of your ex.

Tell him that sometimes you are a bit ditszy. If I were you - I would avoid using names until you get this resolved in your head. Try calling him a pet name. I frequently do this - then I don't have to think of the person's name at all! :)

i think you answered the question of why youre doing it. it's because you're so used to using your ex's name and it just slips out. dont worry, it happens to me too:P he sounds like a very understanding guy, so just explain to him youre sorry and tell him again that you just need time to adjust and maybe give him a little gift or do something romantic(like cook a dinner for the two of you) to let him know he's the only one on your mind:)

that you dont mean to do this but it sound like you may have\
jump the relationship that you in a little early then you should
have the mind not alway think llike the heart.and you may
still have thought of your ex boyfriend.

that is a very hard question to answer since i've had that very samething happen to me there's not much u can say just try ur best not to really ever do it again from the guy's point of view its a really hard pill to swallow being called by the other guys name

Send him a letter with his name written over every inch of the letter. On the back you should write his name once and say that he is the object of your affection and that you love him. That should go over pretty well.

ok plain and simple your not over your ex man!! your probably fooling yourself , did you move on to early? did that relationship really leave that much of an effect on you? you need to get in touch with where your heart is first.

Damn, maybe can only date guys who had your ex's name...hope his name wasnt Herbert or Zeus...um...that sucks hearing that, it really sucks and you need to make a very very big effort to stop it at once!!
