I do not know anything about web design, except for very basic codes (like font color and the like). (I am not bad with computers.)
I am really at a lost! SInce, I am a student I don't have much $. Please help with ideas. Should I attempt to do it on my own? Thanks, every advise is deeply appreciated since none of my friends are web wizards.

You may be able to do it on your own. There are some very affordable Web hosting companies that also provide tools for building a web site.
One that I've used is 1and1.com.
You can obtain your domain name there for $6 and then a hosting plan starts at only $3/month. It comes with tools to help build your site.
If you find that building isn't for you, you could still keep the domain and hosting service and have someone else build the site.
