1996 mercury mystique and the door is stuck in the lock position?

the door will not open, the power lock motor is working when you hit the lock button but doesn't do anything if you hit unlock. the key won't unlock it and the manual switch inside also won't.

If the lock is stuck in the locked position and the door won't close, then have a friend hold the door handle in the open position, and you can open the door latch. That should take care of it.

If the problem is the door lock won't come up, then you may have to get into the door panel and see if something has come loose or the actuator motor for the door lock went bad.
