Your running low on ink. There are usually 3 reservoirs in a cartridge, and when one runs low you will see odd colors like that. If your using a new cartridge, it may be time to get a new printer, its not cost effective to try and fix a problem like that, it will cost you more to have it looked at than it is to buy a new one.

It is because your blue (cyan) cartridge is leaking into the yellow cartridge, thus producing green.

This is an unusual occurrence so just replace your CYAN cartridge. Buy the generic one that is sold at malls or Target. It should cost no more than $6.95 Some computer stores charge $19. If you can't find one go on line. There are lots of places to buy Canon cartridges at a decent price.

And before you do any more printing go to Control Panel, Printers, , HELP, then troubleshooting and select DEEP CLEANING. Wait patiently while this happens and until a window comes up, saying it is completed.

Now all your ports and ink jets should be clear and you should be able to print any color your picture calls for. There may be some "off" colors but that is because Canon is trying to produce all colors with only Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. If you get a more expensive printer with 5 colors it will print more accurately.

Your ink nozzle might be clogged.

Before you panic, just run a head cleaning cycle or two then print a color test page.

Open your printer properties window and click the "Maintenance" tab. Choose "Head Cleaning" or "Deep Cleaning"

Keep in mind that it might take a few cycles to get the problem fixed but it should work for you.

Consult your printer manual if you need more detailed instructions.
