I use to have my ears at 7/8. I bought new plugs and they were slightly bigger and went in nicely on the left ear only. I tried stretching my right ear and it busted from the inside....now it completely closed up and my other ear shrunk all the way to a 4g....it feels tough and just scar tissue. I love my plugs!! Will I be able to stretch it again??? I was also told you can use a 4g needle to pierce instead of a 16g. Will that hurt..?? thank you!I

7/8 completely closed up on its own? That's uncommon.

What size you can get pierced depends on the shop. The largest needles are 6 ga. Larger than that can be done one of two ways, either a dermal punch (also called a biopsy punch) which is essentially a cylindrical razor blade. This can excise a perfect circle the size you want. The other option is to have it scalpeled. The decision is based on whether or not the piercer will or can do it and how much lobe space you have to work with.

Start talking to piercing shops.

Man, that sucks. Take your time. I'd expect it to stretch again, but you'll have to go a LOT slower. Otherwise you're gonna tear it again.

Those things look idiotic. If you plan on working at a tatoo parlor, gas station, or music store until you are old & grey go for it.
