I'm a strait A student. I'm going to be starting college soon. The reason why I want to be a lawyer is because I want to be rich and have lots of money. Would anyone know any good law schools in the Mid-West?

I never really gave law much thought but it's just a such a convenient way to make lots of money. Either way if someone else is a lawywer because they enjoy it, the results will be the same way in court. The law is the law no matter if I'm in it for the money or not. Agreed?

Sadly, that's not the case. First, if you have to take out loans to go to law school, you'll already be starting behind the curve when you get out. There's a glut of law students right now, so the market has corrected for it, and unless you're top ten percent in your class and on law review and go to a prestigious school, there's no guarantee that you'll make good money right out of law school. Also, the law is a high-stress career, and if you don't love what you're doing (and sometimes even if you do), you're in for a lifetime of broken romances and late nights at the office (I've seen this happen before).

If you decide, after all this, to go to law school and become an attorney, take out stock in Tums. You'll need it. :-)

I think your grades could make you a lawyer but I don't think you should chose a career based on the monetary benefits. You should sincerely understand that money is not the only thing in the world and that although the law is the law as you said, it's not going to make you happy in the long run unless you're truly passionate about it.

Do you love the law, or do you just love money?

If the answer is "I just love money, don't give a hoot about the law", please don't become a lawyer. Become an investment banker or a stock broker or a porn merchant or something. They all make lots of money.

If you're just looking to make money, I would go to dental school and specialize in Endodontics (root canals).

please no. be an engineer. Earth does not need another lawyer please. Use your brightness to make something of yourself and add to the world's greatness, not make some money. There are plenty of other ways to make money besides being some quick-buck lawyer.
