I've known a few people that have been diagnosed as being bipolar and they all have a propensity to make inappropriate comments and lack sound judgment at times. Does anyone know if Coulter has this disorder or some sort of anti-social personality disorder?

I don't think she can use a serious mental health issue as an excuse for her bad behavior. She's has a trademark abrasive style of speaking for a particular audience that enjoy her.

Personally I think she ought to put a sock in it because all she does is name calling.

Not at all. She is an entertainment act. She, and her handlers, know exactly when and what to do and say for maximum exposure, effect and profit. Her recent "outburst" was simply code language telling republications that in this PC world, no matter what thier candidate may say publicly, the republication party still is the party of anti-gay sentiment. Not bi-polar at all, but an exceeding wise method by which FOX and their party are able to circumvent the PCness of today.

Well, I never thought of it before. I always just thought she was a psycho *****. But, reading such comments like "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building," (New York Observer 8/26/02) makes me wonder if your question might in fact explain her surreal behavior.

Sorry boys and girls, I disagree with you. Coulter has as much right to state her opinion as much as anyone. Why is her comments offensive when the black race are allowed to specifically degrade themselves using the "N" word, yet when its mentioned by others its offensive. There are homophobes who have cut down people in degrading words (no names mentioned) and they are not criticized. And all the while the politicians have pranced around calling out foul and inciting the "puritan values" of the public. I'd name the politicians but I might as well publish a book. Nope! Sorry. The comment made me laugh, as well as Mr. Edwards saying he'd make a good president and Sen. Kennedy believing he has so far conducted himself righteously.

Her hyperverbal, pressured speech is a characteristic of bipolar mania.

JMY,

Unless she's under the care of a physician qualified to make the diagnosis, and if she is, confidentiality laws make it illegal for him/her to say ANYTHING, anything you read written here by lay people means absolutely NOTHING.

Now, you want a real case of nuttiness? How about Alan Hevesi's statement re. his buddy C. Schumer's wanting to "put a bullet between the President's eyes if he could get away with it." I dunno...I think if the person was anything BUT a Dem., they would be rotting in Leavenworth as we speak.

If she's not taking meds, she should be. The REAL question is, what is the mental state of the genius that decided to choose her as a speaker?
