Walking is very good exercise, but it won't actually induce labor...it can help get the baby into position though. If you want to try to get things going, try having sex (the semen can help soften the cervix)...also nipple stimulation can cause contractions, but none of that will work if the time is right. Nothing is PROVEN to induce labor naturally...the baby will come when the time is right, so get plenty of rest and finish up any last minute shopping/stuff that you need to do! Be patient...your sweet little one will be in your arms before you know it!! Good luck!

Walking won't actually induce labor. If the baby is ready to come, however, walking can help him get down into your pelvis where gravity and the baby's head will help your cervix to dilate. Once labor starts, walking and staying active rather than lying in bed will help things progress. If the baby is not ready to be born yet, walking so much will just make you tired! A better plan right now would be to relax and rest up.

When your baby is ready to come out and play, he/she will-but not until then! Walking is helpful if you are dilated and having contractions. My first was 2 weeks late and I had to be induced. In fact, I had to be induced with all 4 kids! Sometimes nature needs a little help along. Don't stress, walking probabaly won't send your baby flying outta you...:)

The baby won't come until he's ready, no matter how far you walk. And what if it works? Then you're a mile and a half from home and in labor.
Go get some sleep. Once the baby comes, you won't be doing any of that for a while.

Walking DOES NOT HELP! I tried! I was a week overdue having contractions and went to the food and wine festival at EPCOT every day--we lived there--and NOTHING! Finally, at 1 am one night my husband and I went to IHOP, I had some chocolate chip pancakes.....and BABY at noon! The baby will come when it's ready--not you! Good luck! You might as well have pancakes anyway though. lol

That is almost too much. Just go to the mall or Wal-Mart and walk until you're very tired. Next day, baby will be on his/her way!
