In May you won't have to worry about to much rain in Jamaica it usually rains very early in the morning, you will see things wet but other than that you wouldn't even know it had rained. Sometimes it will rain in the middle of the day but only for a few minutes then it will clear up and be sunny again its not like the u.s. You should wear light clothes and sandals it will be hot!

Weather in Jamaica is warm year round and they really don't have a rainy season where it rains for days. Of course it does rain on occasion, though. Mid May is too early for tropical storms to hit the area and Jamaica should be a wonderful place to visit then. Resorts are used to rainy days and will have fun stuff to do inside. Many of them have pool tables and ping pong as well as other table games. Also, the staff can make things fun. Then, there is always the all inclusive perk of no extra charge for alcoholic drinks.
