Pacus will easily outgrow 90 gallons. I know a person who tried putting 2 pacus in a 110 gallon tank and within 2 months they were so big that they were splashing a TON of water out of the tank. I've heard stories about Pacus getting startled and literally breaking through the glass of 300 gallon tanks. Most people will say that 1000 gallons is the absolute bare minimum for Pacus, many will say even that is too small.
Remember, Pacus grow to 2 feet long, and due to their thick, wide body, they will grow usually to around 40 pounds.

A 90 would be enough space for 1 pacu ..... for a while. You're looking at a 2 foot long, thick bodied fish there. A pair would need something on the order of a 180 to be ok and a 250 or so to be truely comfortable.

Look up the adult size.Don't believe the B.S. about fish only growing to fit the size of their tank. That is a lie perpetrated by people who sell them. Fish may become stunted if they are kept in substandard conditions. To suggest that this is some magic regulatory growth control is both stupid and cruel. Also if the fish in question is Colossoma brachypomum, the adult size is 40cm.,or about 16 in. the smallest recommended tank is 500 l.or approximately 135 gallons, for each fish.

It's a great start. If they are small then you shouldn't worry about them outgrowing the tank within a year or two. But a 90 gallon tank won't do if they are already big.

I think since Pacu's are very large fish maybe you should just keep one to be on the safe side.

The amazing thing about fish is they adapt to their environment. In this case, your fish will grow no larger than what the tank can sustain. Unless your fish are already too large for the tank they should be okay.

chances are they will outgrow it eventually, but if you feed them responsibly they wont grow that fast, keep them on a vegetarian diet and keep the water hygenic but not sparkly,
a 90gallon is enough for them maybe for a lifetime
