How can I take music from my computers media player and transfer it to my Ipod?

You don't have to convert it to aac if you don't want. You can just put mp3 format music to it. You first have to add the song to the itune's library and then to the ipod. To add it do the following:
Open Itunes
Click file
Add file to library
then you have to browse for the song.
When you find the file, click open
Now your music will appear on the Itunes Library
To update the songs to your ipod click file and then update ipod. Hope this helped.
