I agree! I am not gay either but I fully support gay marriage. I think it is such a taboo thing because the right person has not been elected! I think if it were more widestream and out in the open more people would get over it! I think that people need to realize that homosexuals are just trying to get the same rights as us heterosexuals! It is a shame that in this day and age we should not be "racist" but we as a society can be prejudiced against any one else that is not like us. (Just wanted to say...I am not homosexual OR racist, much to the contrary in fact, I have a mixed child!)

Not so sure we have really overcome the racial issue, I wish that were true.

But, as with you, I'm also straight, and I can't understand why this has to be such a big thing.
Why can't our government find something real to deal with other than spending so much time obsessing about gay marriages. Who cares who marries who, let these people have their own normal lives. I believe they should have all the rights that straight couples have.

I dont have a real strong opinion on this but maybe its cause hetero people want to keep the word marriage special and sacred, for describing the union of man/women. They may not have any other problems with letting them have the same rights as normal couples. I think they stole the rainbow from us normals too, I mean I like rainbows, but if I put a rainbow sticker on my car people think im gay.

As long as the religious right is bent on replacing the Constitution with the book of Levicitus, they will oppose any legal protections for LGBT people.

Because a marriage is between a man and a woman. You can't marry another man. You can't marry your dog. You can't marry your sister. You can't marry your grandmother. Even if you love them, you can't marry them.

Marriage has a specific meaning. Homosexuals want to change that. Homosexuals are not satisfied having the same rights as everyone else: the ability to marry a person of the opposite sex. They think that they are special. We should change the definition of marriage to suit their lust. Well, it ain't going to happen.

Some people think that if gay marriage is recognized in court, straight marriage's sanctity will be ruined. And I wouldn't be surprised if people thought that gays want to force churches to marry gay couples.

Because people confuse religion with civil/equal rights. Alot of the complaints are due to religious reasons. It is not about religion.

I don't think there is any one particular reason, but there is one common denominator. People are resistant to change. It's the nature of the beast.
