In The 80's you had to be able to sing now all you need is a tattoo and an Ab and you are in making music.
you have so much effect on your voice you dont even need to have a voice
gone are the days of talanted people who have a great voice and can belt out a track and in are the days of the over produced Jo bloges from off the street
when did we stop apreciating talant and start bying music based on looks

The talent is there still, it has just moved from in front of the mic to behind the desk: Modern pop production shows more thoughtful musicianship than any other era. Computers might be able to make backing tracks in perfect time and tune, but a modern producer has to know exactly what he wants to the last note. A far cry from jazz, rock and '60s pop, where they point some mics at a band and tell them to go for it.

I think it happened with the advent of New Kids On the Block, and they paved the way and have caused the suckativity level of music to rise and rise.

There has always been crappy music. It's just that the crappy music didn't survive to be heard by subsequent generations.

I do agree that these days the best music is done by people you NEVER hear on the radio.

Take Paris Hilton for example. She sucks at singing and look at where she is. All you need is money and fame and you're good to go.

I agree...the talent is in the producers these days.

Most of today's "Music" sucks.
