possibly an STD (chalmydia, gonorrhea, syphillis) or some other infection, possibly fungal. Go get checked out. This won't show up on a Pap smear.

ok, just as everyone else has already said. paps only check for cervial cancer and abnormal cells on the cervix. being that you said it only happens every once in a while, it could possibly be your system cleaning itself out. There should be like a mild discharge and then it should stop. This is basically what you said it happening. It you constantly continue to see the discharge then you should see a doctor. it may be a mild infection, yet mild infections can always get worst and then infect the rest of the reproductive system. Be careful and if you are that concerned, then tell you parent or doctor.

Time for another visit to the doctor! Your doc will be able to tell you if it's something to be worried about -- you might have a yeast infection or something. Definitely get it checked out, cause there are some things that could be very bad if they're not treated. And your doc will do a lot better diagnosing it than a bunch of strangers on Y!Answers. :)

Explain this to your doctor. You may have an infection. If you do not check it out it could cause problems later. Some odors down there are normal though. Try changing your soap. A woman's delicate area needs a delicate soap. Dove sensitive is a good one. Still check with your doc though just to rule out any problems. Good Luck!

sounds like bacterial vaginosis, in my late teens i would experience those symptoms often, my doc then told me it is not sexually transmitted, but why was it reaccuring so often, i went to another doc, and she told me that even if you are with the same person, and you are both faithful, we could be passing the infection back and fourth to each other, so they gave us both meds, and i didnt have that problem anymore. so you both may need to see a doc, and find out what you can do, the discharge is yellow, and the smell is not so pleasant, you can smell it even after you shower.(vaginitis) go see your doc. hope this helps

If you have discharge and odor that means you need to see the doc as you may have a vaginal infection. It is not a big deal just something you need to get checked out.

You could have a bacterial infection which can be cured by a prescription creme or antibiotic pill from ur ob/gyn. Or it could just be the way ur body is. You should see ur doctor if this is an issue.

Your description is more in line with Bacterial vaginosis.
Doctor can test for this, and if confirmed, you would need antibiotic treatment. Good luck!

See your doctor....I had something when I was about your age...it wasn't serious, but we both had to take the meds so we didn't keep passing it, I can't remember the name, but I remember it wasn't a big deal...
