Pre-law pretty much is a bachelors degree similar to Criminal Justice or Administration of Justice, but the focus of this is to better prepare you for obtaining your juris doctorate and become a lawyer. This is not a requirement though, you can enter law school with a bachelors in pretty much anything as long as your GPA was decent.

Pre-law means that a certain field of study is geared toward people who will go to Law School afterwards to eventually become lawyers.

Political science, humanities, general business administration, and philosophy are some examples of college majors that are considered "pre-law".

It means you plan to go to law school and your course of study is preparation. It's the same thing for pre-med students. They are preparing for medical school.
