a dnc does not make you sterile. the reason why you had the dnc might, depending on what it was. but a dnc is just a way of cleaning out the womb. nothing more involved.

I was told that by someone too. But I had one done & then about a year later I got pregnant without any trouble & carried the baby fine. She's a perfect little girl, no problems at all. Don't worry, lots of women have DNC's &then have babies afterward. Good Luck!!!

Not at all. My sister and I had it done at the same time to resolve problems with our periods and we did not end up sterile.

Okay, its D & C, stands for dilate and curate or dilation and curretage am I right medical people? They go in and dilate the cervix (open) then take a small scraping of the tissue in the uterus for one reason or another. Normally, your period starts back. Aren't you having one? You should check with your gyno.Just call them. I'm sure its nothing.

No it does not. I had one after a miscarriage and had two more children in the years to come.
