Actually, the exact same thing happens in a female only on a much smaller scale...Your clitoris is basically a tiny penis. When you get excited, it swells. Stimulation of the clitoris causes climax, after which, it remains hypersensitive for a short period of time until things "reset". This is your refractory period. In addition to what is happening with your clitoris, your vulva and vagina become engorged (swollen and red) in readiness for penetration and you secrete a thin lubricant to aid in penetration. Once you climax, your pelvic muscles begin to spasm rhythmically, repeatedly dipping your cervix into the expected pool of semen at the end of your vaginal canal. It's all about reproduction baby. We are driven to it, because it feels good. Imagine how unpopulated the world would be if it hurt to reproduce?
