I have the numbers 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. I have to put them in a 3 by 3 square so that each row and each column equal the same number.

the two answers above are right and just to be sure that you don't get tricked, they are the same with just a 90 degree turn of the square. look at the lines and realize that the numbers in the first one (horizontal) are the ones in the second one (vertical)
