For starters, it's beautiful. Much of the city is black brick which creates a skyline of black towers that stand out against the sky. Many of the streets are cobbled and the city has various hills where cathedrals and churches are built (and a mini eiffel tower). It is beautiful during the summer, and I've never seen a city that looks nicer during bad weather. When the clouds roll in, the black towers just seem perfect.
For years, it has been a cheap destination in Europe, beers costing around .50 usd at bars. There are several good hostels which attract many backpackers, who will often stay in Prague for a longer time as it doesn't cost as much as western Europe.
The city itself doesn't seem to sleep. There are many non-stop bars, which are open 24 hours. Many other places run well into the night. I had a string of 10 days where I didn't get to sleep before 6am. It boasts several good clubs for dancing as well as some fun bars for a quieter scene. The Czech Rep. itself has great alcohol, from the beer (where pilsners were created) to the hard alcholol such as Bekerfovka (i know this is misspelled), and absinthe. All in all, it's a merry place to drink.
The food is also excellent. Czech cuisine is tasty, and Prague has an excellent international selection as well (it has my favorite Chinese food and Italian restaurants (outside of Italy)). Meals are cheap, so there's a nice tendancy to have an absolute feast. Prague also has the absolute best food to buy on the street after 2am. On King Wenceles Sq. the hot cheese in a bun is liquid gold after a night out on the town. Deep fried breaded cheese patty in a bun with mayo. A girl I was out with one night said it sounded disgusting but after one bite she went and bought one herself (with a dirty look at me as she did).
It's also becoming the Hollywood of Europe. Many films are now shot in and around Prague (Bourne Identity, Eurotrip, XXX, A Knight's Tale to name a few), so it gets a lot of exposure.
All in all, it's a wonderful city. People always say that it was better before, the first time they went, but it's simply an amazing city, and has been for centuries. I can state without reservation that it's my favorite city in Europe, and I've been there on five different occasions.
Oh, and the girls ain't hard on the eyes.

It's a place that has a thousand year history. It is a beautiful place called "Golden Prague of a 100 steeples" (of course there's a lot more)... but the most important is that I was born there ;-)))
Seriously, if you want culture, you get both clasical and modern music; all the big performers go there. Just this year starting in March, there will be at least 41 concerts given by the following (and many others):
Headhunters
Shakira
Kris Kristofferson
Lionel Richie
Joan Baez
Genesis
Ozzy Osbourne
Enough for you? It's also a place that's relatively inexpensive.... and I'm going there in 9 days.

Lots of people comment that Prague reminds them of Paris before it became too big and too crowded. I have visited Prague about 6 times and still find it very fascinating. This is the heart of Bohemia with Bohemian culture, the place just feels magical. The city is alive with music in the spring, there are bands in parks, lots of stuff to do and see. Its still a fairly cheap destination. I will visit again this year for a few days.

The old buildings. They weren't destroyed in WW2 like most places in Europe, so most of the originals are standing.
