If you are asking if the YMCA is a good place to meet women to date, weeellll.... It's a good place to meet a lot of older women - as in 50's. That's just been my general experience.

Young women who like to swim generally are more interested in lap swimming and prefer city and/or county pools. The pools in clubs like the YMCA tend to be very small, have dirty water, and are not ideal for lap swimming.

And the people I lap swim with aren't there to date. They are there to work out so there's not a lot of chatting going on. If you spend most of the time with your head underwater you can't hear well anyway! :) Try the beach, though.

I'm 24 and I coach swimming at a local YMCA. The crowd of non-team ladies is mainly made up of aquacisers, the older women who enjoy the workouts. The lap swimmers are more serious Masters swimmers and even the young ones are there to SWIM, not chat up "boys"... Probably not. You might try the mall...
