Bettas are sometimes fine with goldies. Mine are currently living together happily. The Betta even follows the goldies around the tank.... I'm kinda worried he's gonna pick up their habit of picking up the gravel though. Anyway, if you're gonna have a goldfish you need a tank with a filter otherwise you'll have to change the water a lot more than normal. Plus they outgrow bowls really quick. 20 Gallons minimum for a goldfish, and as far as fighting goes, that seriously just depends on the Betta and the goldfish. None of mine nip fins or are really aggressive so they live peacefully. It took a little while to establish the pecking order, and for the goldies to get used to having a new fish in the tank, but they're happy.
Just be sure to keep an eye on them for a while when you put them together, look to see if they nip each others fins or if they bully each other. Some testing is expected so don't freak if it only happens a couple of times. If you feel it's too much make sure you have somewhere else to put the Betta, just please don't put either in a bowl.
Also, keep in mind that goldies are cold water fish and that bettas are tropical. Their temp requirements are different and they would be happiest at those temps, but they are able to survive at the same temps.

Good grief ... what answers...

No the betta will not fight with a goldfish, they only fight with other bettas.

You really shouldn't put the two together though because the betta needs warmer water than goldfish and becasue a grown goldfish needs at least a 20 gallon tank, not a 1 gallon bowl. It would not take long at all for one of the two to die due to being crowded.

The goldfish will die from being in a bowl.

The ammonia the goldfish produces may kill the betta before the goldie dies.

The goldie will nible on your bettas fins which may lead to a fungal infection.

The Goldfish is a coldwater fish, the betta is a warm water fish.

Your goldfish should (if you don't kill it) wil grow to be 6-12 inches. Is your bowl even that big?

So... No. It's a bad idea. Unless you think of animals as disposable decorations and care nothing about their welfare.

They will fight, and I'm pretty sure out of the two the goldfish will die. Other than that, you might want to have a bigger bowl for a goldfish too, because a goldfish needs more space than a betta does.

such dissimilar persons are ignorant approximately bettas. Many say "bettas are propose", etc.... whilst it somewhat is not actual. My goldfish (Phoebe, a pearl scale), and her little companion (a crowntail named Taj), lived VERY thankfully jointly. They swam jointly and Taj replaced into very distressed as quickly as we had to sell her because of fact of her length. Bettas, like another fish, have diverse personalities, and confident, they have an inclination to nip something that threatens them-- frequently something very colourful or that have long flowy fins. besides the undeniable fact that, that doesn't propose they could desire to not be saved with different fish. I actual have 25 bettas, 8 women, and the rest male. I even have shrimp, plecos, cories, otos, goldfish, etc in my tanks. I actual have not had a single demise do to scuffling with. (male fish are separated from one yet another) So. till now you remark some betta, do your examine. actual inspect what a betta is extremely like. Now, on a 2d be conscious, a great reason to not save goldfish and bettas jointly for too long is their diverse water standards. Tropical and carp do not combination nicely. :)

Bettas are aggressive, but they can be kept in a tropical, community tank on occaision. the real reason you dont want to keep the two together is that goldfish are not tropical fish. they have different feeding requirements than bettas, and tend to be gluttons. Also, goldfish have a high level of ammonia in their waste, which can kill tropical fish. Golfish also definitely require a filter, but bettas prefer stiller waters for the most part.

I put my Betta in with all my other fish and he did just fine! but that was in a 55gal I think you could as long as it was a bigger tank and you have plenty of plants and places for your gold fist to get away from your Betta if he is bugging him! Also put the gold fish is first and let him establish him self then put in the Betta! Good luck

Absolutely not, you need a very large tank for goldfish. The only reason people put them in bowls is because they are a coldwater fish, cheap and replaceable. Goldfish get very large and they are very dirty. Beta's need to be alone. Period
