BP Oil has been running big expensive ads in investment magizines, such as SmartMoney, for months on this subject. They are touting that they are investing billions in research because this is the wave of the future.

There was a book that came out in I believe 1974 that sent shock waves through the oil industry by a man who knew what he was talking about. He came up with a curve that he thought was indicitive of what would happen to the oil supplies of the world. Basically, he said we'd begin to see a decline in the amount coming out of the ground, thus, oil prices would begin to spike and production would begin to slow. What this would do would be catastropic, to say the least.

Others, more recently, have taken this theory farther, giving dooms day senarios of what the world would be like. Needless to say, I hardly slept that night! But, the most experienced and knowledgeable oil men agree with this curve theory. Add to that, we are in a global warming crisis drives home the point that we have over used and abused petro fuels over the last 100 years.

How does this relate to trucking? Well, if we see a dip in oil production, or a spike, that would change the trucking industry drastically overnight. There must be an alternative BEFORE the ultimate happens. Too bad we as Americans didn't scream and yell 30 years ago when we had a "gas crisis" and lined up at the tanks. I remember it well, I was a senior in h.s. and got up at 2 am to sit in line at the gas station for my dad just so he could go to work!

If you are too young to remember that, or worse, never heard of that, God help you! Remember, history repeats itself. Why? Because we just don't learn our lessons sometimes.

Bio Fuels were began to reduce pollution. in various aspects it truly is the regulation that a particular % of the gasoline could be Ethanol. i have self belief it truly is 10% in some places and 15% in others. those guidelines were pushed by technique of our "Environmentalists". Are they incorrect again? "Environmentalists" killed our Nuclear ability application which will have helped pollution more suitable than all of those different options. Now we hit upon the "options" are literally not so elementary as we concept. can we ever stop listening to "Environmentalists" who use their thoughts to make dicisions, and start up listening to our Engineers who use data. If we are to maintain our lifestyle, Nuclear ability, mixed with some image voltaic, Wind, Geo., etc. is the in reality decision we've which will furnish sufficient sturdy 24/7 potential at a lifelike fee and enable us reduce fossil fuels use.
