If I apply to West Point - is it heavily base off my participation in sports? Do you have a severe disatvantage if your high school has little to no sports? Or do I just ahve to suck it up and play that sports I don't like just so it looks good of my application?

Sports are a good thing, but what's more important is your health. If you played football and got a back or knee injury you would be disqualified for the service academies. You must be in perfect health. One of my son's best friends was actually already accepted at AF Academy and they rescinded his acceptance when one of his medical forms mentioned that he had been briefly treated for a injured back at age 12. He played three sports in HS afterwards, but that didnt matter.

The US government is not going to invest $1000000 in your training if there is any chance that an old injury is going to prevent you from carrying out your duties.
