I have a PSP but I need to know how to put Playstation games on it without a PS3
I have v3.03 and an update to v3.11 should I update?

In order to play PS games on PSP without PS3, you need a customized version of PSP firmware (3.03 OE-c). However, in order to do that, you need to downgrade your PSP to firmware 1.50 first. With 3.03 firmware, it is required that you have an unpatched version of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.
Do not upgrade to v. 3.11 because currently there is no way to downgrade from 3.11 to 1.50.
Also, downgrading involve significant risk and can make your PSP completely unusable.

I agree with adamng, do not upgrade if you want it to work. And downgrade at your own risk. It may seem simple, but you risk bricking your system.
