I went to McDonalds today and tried to reload my Arch card. The girl behind the counter could not get it to work so she just grabs a new one and put the money on there, without even asking me if that was ok. She said the first card was already activated (which I would hope so since I was trying to reload it). I now have 2 Arch cards. When I asked the girl why she could not add the money to the original she said she did not know. So it makes me wonder, am I the only one who has ever tried to reload an Arch card?

No lots of people use the arch card systems now as a easier way to purchase their McDonald's food. As a manager of a McDonalds myself I apologize on behalf of the employee and the management team at the McDonald's you were at dropping the ball on that problem. Since it is possible to reload the card. The employee might have been new, still the employee should have contacted a manager so that this would never have became an issue. But yes more and more people are using them. And for birthdays and holiday gifts lots of people by them for those purposes as well.

Putting money on an arch card initially/activating it and reloading an arch card require two totally different computer processes. It sounds like to me that she was trying to use the activation keystrokes, which will tell you that the card is already activated and not allow you to put more money on it. There is actually a button that reads "reload card". Go back, if you want to reload it, and if it happens again, ask a manager to help.

Ye si have an Arch card btu have only used it down to like $3 and jsut stopped useing it. It might have been fine to jsut get a new one because after a while i started to get board with the old one and alos mine went through the wash so good luck on ur Arch card pal

What's an Arch card? We got Mickey D's here in Philippines, but no Arch cards. Could it possibly be a McDonalds hehehe "credit card"?

give them cash and they give it back to on an arch card same amount i don't know if there is tax on it i use to work at mcdonalds

I don't trust them gift cards. I wonder does it simultaneously send back info like in that ()Simpsons show bookstore()what you just bought at McDonalds back to Ronald McDonalds House or the Chef that created that new sandwich years ago?
Really freaky you can demagnitize and be out of fake debit dough!

Never heard of them here in Australia.
We have VIP cards which give you like, a free small chips or drink if you buy a burger.
