I don't envy the next guy who becomes qb at Green Bay. Favre is a modern iron man, a throwback to gritty players of an earlier era. That kind of toughness plays well in a working class town like Green Bay. Even if the next Packer qb puts up good numbers, it will take many years, and probably even a Superbowl win or two, before fans mention him in the same breath as Brett.

I believe someone will fill Bret Favre shoes most of the quarterback coming out of college today are faster, more mobile. has better arm strength. Yes he is tough and a great quarterback but the defense has passed him up. The game is much faster and Green Bay needs a quarterback who can play a faster game and stronger. I would like to see Bret teach a Rookie this year and share his knowledge and then retire. I see him getting hurt early because he just isn't Gumby any more

I hope not. As a lions fan I have endured great hardship by the hands of Mr. Brett Farve. Well come to think of it I've endured great hardship by almost every quaterback that has faced us. Brett Farve, however, has been a lions killer for years. I think that the next quarterback will be able to keep the franchise moving but no one will every replace Brett Farve. Its all a matter on if Green Bay will get other skilled players to help the team. A quarterback cannot do it alone even if it is Farve.

the only quarterback that could fill Favre's shoes would probably be like a clone of the 28 year old Favre.

Just like the Bronco's have struggled with QB's since Elway retired, whoever takes over first will have a really hard time meeting expectations. Its probably better to be the 2nd or 3rd QB after he retires than to be his replacement.

Brett Farve is one of the the best, if not the best NFL quarterback of all time. Filling those shoes is a tall order indeed.

Cheers :-)

I will give him a chance, and even allow bad plays to help progression. But the moment he doesn't play because of a minor injury, I and the rest of Packer fans will yell for him to be tarred and feathered.
