in addition to my question, my car is a 1997 Buick LeSabre, and it dies out if i push the gas pedal too much sometimes it looks like its about to die out while im driving cause all the indicator lights would come on then it goes again, today when i put it on neutral and pushed the gas pedal, there was like a pause in between but the engine was still running. never had this problem before please help, and any suggestion of the best place i can get it fixed?

Somebody already suggested an EGR valve, and it's a valid idea. TPS (Throttle position sensor) could be another one. You need to scan the computer codes and sensor readings. Your vehicle is OBD-1 which is the first generation manufacturer-specific system. GM scanners are readily available at most parts stores - just stay away from Sun Corporation (not to be confused with Sun Microsystems) - these guys are MAJOR crooks.

Our van was killing sometimes if we slowed down to take a corner. It also wouldn't back out of the garage. You can put in a bottle of stuff to get rid of moisture in there. We were also told to use the '89 octane gas instead of '87 with ethanol, and it now runs fine.

i would have the fuel filter changed the more you step on the gas the more fuel it requires if your filter is getting plugged up then it wont allow enough fuel have the fuel pressure checked could be a faulty pump
