Generaly meds given for "minor surger" and many times major surgery will not hurt the embryo. As for the x-ray, it is common practice for the technition to cover the pelvic region of all femals with in reproductive years, this would shield the uterus. Please remind your sister that you ovulate aproximately 14 days prior to starting your period. If she got pregnant on that day or the next it would still take the fertilized egg 10 days to travel the fallopian tube to the uterus and then to implant. That would make implantation aproximately 4 days prior to expected start of period. If you calculate all of the above you will know about how far along she is. It is always adviseable to speak with an OB and to be able to provide them with as much information as possible. Relax and call the doctor. Good luck!

It may, but, it's really hard to say. My sister had major surgery when she was 6 weeks pregnant (tested neg. also). She had several doses of morphine as well, for pain relief. My niece was born ... a bit under-weight, but, very healthy otherwise. Her OB/GYN will more than likely do more than one ultrasound, in order to keep a close eye on things. :)

It might have but she can't worry to much about it. Alot of people have surgery when they are expecting and go on to have healthy babies. Her doctor will be aware of what happen and will do everything in their power to make sure they do whatever they can to ensure her a healty baby.
Tell her to relax and just trust the doc on this one.

the x-ray exposure is not good news. Also you must know what drugs they gave her in hospital. Her doctor should know what to do.
