I don't know about water soluable because I use the Durex Play Tingle Sensation Condoms. But I LOVE them. It's a slight menthol tingle. It doesn't hurt, it just makes you tingle, and just a little cold sensation. So I assume the gel is does the same thing. They are awsome. Maybe if you are sensative, it might sting, but it shouldn't. I'm a whimp and it doesn't hurt me.
